Located in Dillon MT, the cabin can house up to 3 individuals in each private suite. Each suite has 2 bedrooms/sitting rooms, kitchen, private bath, air conditioning, gas fireplace, gas range, refrigerator, microwave, 3 queen beds, 1 twin bed, satellite TV, WIFI, ceiling fans, wooden porch with sitting area, custom tile, and gorgeous native Douglas Fir log work.

About Our Lodging in Dillon, Montana

Dillon is the seat for Beaverhead County, the largest county in land mass in Montana with a population of approximately 2 people per square mile. Located within walking distance to many amenities, it is also a central point to numerous famous fly fishing waters. The Beaverhead River, Big Hole River, Madison River, Ruby River, Poindexter Slough Spring Creek, Jefferson River, and other mountain streams and lakes are all within striking distance of the Fly Shop Inn. There are several museums within blocks of the cabin which give you a taste of our western heritage. Several ghost towns are within driving distance including the original Territorial Capital of Bannack which has been preserved in its original state. The town has a golf course and a newly built state of the art YMCA with an Olympic pool. Fun fact, the Lewis and Clark expedition passed through this area not once, but twice and several Lewis and Clark sites are located nearby..

Dillon is in a mile-high desert valley with snowcapped mountains surrounding the town.With the fertile Beaverhead River flowing nearby, Beaverhead Country is known for its excellent waterfowl hunting and big game hunting especially duck hunting. The fertile river provides water for wild trout and fly-fishing enthusiasts along with the resident ranchers and farmers.The Pioneer Mountains, located west of Dillon, are split in half, with the Grasshopper creek to the south and the Wise River to the north. The spectacular Pioneer scenic byway runs up through the middle of the mountains. We highly recommend you drive up for sightseeing while staying in the area and check out the camping sites and wildflower areas. For our visiting rockhounds, we recommend taking a trip to Crystal Park where you can dig for crystals on your own.The University of Montana Western is located three blocks south of our facilities, offering walking paths through the tree-filled campus as well as cultural events and a wonderful museum that often has visiting exhibits. Each summer there is a lunch or dinner in the park, located 3 blogs from the Fly Shop Inn. There are always great groups that perform and entertain at no expense unless the visitor would like to donate. If you time your stay right, you can typically find good draw of folk artists passing through on their way to or from the annual international folk festival in Butte, Montana. If you enjoy cooler air during the summer months or the beauty of the wildlife and nature in the spring and fall in the solitude of unspoiled nature, our lodging in Dillon is perfect. Dillon may be considered remote country, but if you’re not the roughing it type, there are plenty of amenities and accommodations. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance and you can roam the property of our beautiful state-of- the-art hospital complete with a walking/biking path offering views of the surrounding mountains. There is also a brand new IGA grocery store that complements our existing Safeway store. Both stores carry staples as well as fine specialty foods. Each store also has a deli, in-house bakery and huge wine and beer selections.We don’t want to brag too much, but our lodging is the perfect location to access some of the best fly fishing in Montana while coupling with all the comforts and conveniences you would wish for.
