After growing up on opposite sides of the country Andy and Chelsey were both drawn to the mountains and rivers of Montana. Andy came to Montana via Ohio, having a family that was born and raised in Bozeman, he remembers since an early age his desire to one day live there and fulfill his lifetime dream of becoming a fishing guide and outfitter. Chelsey came to Montana via Portland Oregon to pursue her career in the hotel and hospitality industry. They met while both working together at Big Sky Resort in 2007 and well the rest is history. They have settled in the wonderful town of Dillon MT, raising their two daughters and appreciating the endless fishing and outdoor opportunities the area has to offer. They are proud and humbled to be the new owners of Backcountry Angler and are excited for the future and the continued tradition of providing some of the best fishing experiences around and pride themselves on their hospitality and hard work. The staff and guides at Backcountry Angler will work their butts off for you, ensuring the best possible experience and one to remember for years to come. Backcountry Angler is one of the largest outfitters in SW Montana with the ability to operate on some of Montana’s only regulated rivers, the Beaverhead and Big Hole. They look forward to the opportunity to share their part of Montana and create lifelong friends with their guests and clients.

At Backcountry Angler we take guiding and fishing seriously and have fun every minute doing it. Our guides are hand-picked to ensure the highest quality experience for each and every one of our anglers. They have years upon years of experience and most importantly that experience is on the rivers we fish every day, ensuring they know the conditions on a daily basis, what’s working, what’s not, where to go, and where not to go. Whether it’s a day or a week with us, we will leave you with an experience of a lifetime and will work the hardest we can to have fun and catch fish.
